Meridian Realty: Awarded the Best Real Estate Office in South Africa

October has been an incredibly exciting month for Meridian Realty. Not only did we celebrate 17 years of real estate success, but we also won two prestigious awards at The International Property Awards. The International Property Awards identifies the highest levels of achievement in real estate, development, architecture, interior design, and marketing in both the residential and commercial sectors, focusing on services, sustainability, high-living standards, ergonomics, originality, and creativity. Meridian Realty participated in two categories during the 2022-2023 Africa & Arabia International Property Awards and received the following awards:

'Meridian Magic' is a term we often use to describe our passion for property and our community. Here are some of our 'Meridian Magic' moments so far this year:

Giving back:

Giving back and making a positive difference in the community are very close to our hearts. We proudly partnered with The Imibala Trust. The Imibala Trust is a registered South African NPO, which works with children of school-age whose lives are affected by impoverished circumstances. The Trust provides a unique platform through which they offer programmes that make a substantial and measurable difference in the daily and future lives of the children. The programmes instill a sense of excellence in the children and help them prepare for productive lives after school. All children, regardless of race or creed, are assisted through these programmes.

The flagship programme, which affects the largest number of children annually, is the Sponsor-a-Child programme. The effects of persistent poverty continue to compromise children's futures and hamper their dignity, safety, and ability to thrive in the school system.

After every registered transaction, Meridian Realty donates a portion of their commission to the Imibala Trust, which goes towards the Sponsor-a-Child programme. Making waves in PropTech with our Offer to Purchase Automation

This has been a game changer for us and for our agents. We incorporated this functionality directly into our CRM system called Meridian Connect and it is available to all our agents. When you think about it, the process of drafting an OTP usually starts with a basic OTP template, which is then modified and amended to concur with, firstly, the requirements of the buyer making the offer, and secondly, the seller if they counter on some of the terms. We have automated the initial process to enable our agents to take the buyer on a customer journey as they discuss the offer that they wish to put on the table. The system essentially asks a number of questions from the buyer, e.g.: how much do you wish to offer; will there be a deposit; will a bond apply; will it be subject to the sale of another property; ect. Once all the core details have been captured, the system automatically and in real time generates the perfect OTP based on the requirements of the buyer! There are no unnecessary clauses included, the OTP is as long or as short as it needs to be, and everything is print and signature ready! Since launching this system, we have received incredibly positive feedback from our agents and clients alike!

Events:

On Thursday, 27 October we participated in the annual Eikestad golf day at Stellenbosch golf course, which was a huge success! Our support staff and local iAgents sponsored a hole where we braaied a truly South African favourite boerewors rolls as well as offered refreshments and brought the team spirit. We are already looking forward to next year!

On Saturday, 29 October we also joined forces with STS Triathlon at the picturesque Plaisir Wine Estate where adults and children of various ages participated. It was a family day filled with laughter and celebration. Meridian Realty sponsored a water hole where we served ice cold water, soft drinks, assisted in handing out well-deserved medals, and provided words of encouragement.

It was a great honour and privilege to be part of the 2022 Private Property Summit. Antonie Goosen, principal and founder of Meridian Realty, together with other industry leaders in South Africa, discussed the Evolution of Real Estate.
